Ardmore, Oklahoma (October 21, 2024) – Exceptional Community Hospital - Ardmore has been surveyed by the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality (CIHQ) and has successfully met the requirements for Hospital Accreditation by demonstrating compliance with CIHQ Standards and the Conditions of Participation by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This recognition reflects the hospital’s continuous commitment to safety and quality patient care.

Exceptional Community Hospital - Ardmore was subjected to a rigorous unannounced on-site assessment on October 14, 2024. The CIHQ team toured the hospital, reviewed medical records, observed care practices, and interviewed staff and patients.

“CIHQ’s goal is to partner with hospitals to improve the care provided in our communities,” states Richard Curtis, Chief Executive Officer of CIHQ. “CIHQ is proud to recognize Exceptional Community Hospital – Bullhead City for achieving accreditation.”

Bruce McVeigh, Chief Operating Officer at Exceptional Community Hospital said, “Achieving accreditation from CIHQ demonstrates our accountability and commitment to delivering safe and quality care to all patients. Surveyors with CIHQ used every opportunity to educate and inform staff and providers on best practices to improve the patient care environment. The conclusion of the on-site survey is validation of the work our hospital staff does every day to comply with nationally developed patient safety standards. We are excited to have achieved this recognition, and it speaks to our continued accountability and commitment to the patients we care for.”

Hospital staff have been preparing for the survey since the hospital opened on June 3, 2024. Preparations included actively reviewing policies, procedures, and conducting mock surveys to ensure that patient safety standards are continuously being met.
