Biography

Shelby Kropp, MBA, BSN, RN, serves as the Chief Nursing Officer at Exceptional Community Hospital in Ardmore, Oklahoma. With a strong foundation in both nursing and leadership, she leads with a commitment to clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and community-centered care.

Shelby has extensive leadership experience in healthcare, particularly through her tenure at Community Health Systems (CHS). She has held roles such as Chief Nursing Officer, where she led quality improvement initiatives and managed patient care operations. In this role, Shelby focused on enhancing outcomes, fostering team engagement, and ensuring operational efficiency. As a former Director of Surgical Services, she was responsible for managing perioperative departments, driving improvements in surgical workflows, patient safety, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her leadership resulted in notable gains in performance and staff development within the surgical teams.

Shelby started her nursing career in Home Health and Hospice. This provided her with a unique opportunity for independence, building deeper personal connections with patients and families, and fostering a strong sense of self-care and reflection. These experiences molded her approach to providing a compassionate and holistic approach to patient care. She also worked as a PACU Manager and Postpartum Nurse, where she developed strong clinical skills in direct patient care, post-anesthesia recovery, and maternal health. In these roles, Shelby honed her expertise in clinical operations, patient care coordination, and team management.

She received her BSN from East Central University in Ada, OK, and MBA with a focus in Hospital Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, OK. Shelby’s diverse experience demonstrates her dedication to advancing healthcare quality, improving operational processes, and leading teams to deliver outstanding patient care.
