Biography

Dr. Ron Stephens joined the Exceptional Healthcare team as our Chief Medical Officer in August 2026.  In this role, he leads our physician and Advanced Practice Providers staff, ensuring quality, safety, and professionalism across our enterprise.  Prior to joining EHC, Ron held numerous leadership positions in the U.S. Army as well as the corporate world.  Beginning his military career as a private in the infantry in 1982, he ultimately retired as a Brigadier General in 2021.  He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is a licensed acupuncturist.  With a reputation for mission accomplishment, team building, and problem solving, he led at virtually every level in the healthcare field, from service and department chief to chief medical officer to CEO of an outpatient clinic, a community hospital, a large teaching hospital, and ultimately the Army’s health system across Europe.  He also served as the senior medical advisor at every echelon of military medical healthcare from Captain to 4-Star General.  Ron also served as the Chief Medical Officer for a government contractor after retiring from the Army.  Throughout his career, he has maintained a tenacious emphasis on quality and safety while achieving mission success, building teams, and developing leaders.  He has visited 41 countries and has made countless presentations at the local, national, and international levels.

While Ron enjoys running, golf, and watching Georgia Bulldog football, he especially loves spending time with his family, including his bride, 7 children, 4 in-laws, and 5 grandchildren.

After you receive care at one of our hospitals, you may receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurance carrier. The EOB is NOT A BILL.

Depending on your health insurance carrier, you may be responsible for a copay, deductible, and co-insurance. Your health insurance carrier will process this for services rendered.
