Biography

Rob Kunkel is an accomplished healthcare operations and transformation leader with over 20 years of experience across military, federal, and civilian healthcare systems. He currently serves as Director of Operations at Exceptional Healthcare Inc., where he leads strategic initiatives to launch new hospital facilities and ensures full regulatory compliance.

Previously, Rob served as Director of Transformation for the Colorado Military Health System (Defense Health Agency), where he led large-scale system optimization and market certification efforts. He has successfully planned and executed over 30 healthcare-related operations and emergency response missions.

During his military service, Rob held several key leadership positions, including Senior Medical Advisor in Afghanistan. There, he directed COVID-19 emergency response planning and logistics, securing over $11.8 million in critical medical supplies and advising high-level military leaders.

He has managed multimillion-dollar budgets, led cross-functional teams, and implemented Lean transformation initiatives across multiple healthcare environments. Known for his adaptability, collaborative leadership style, and commitment to mentorship, Rob consistently drives performance and improves patient care systems.

Rob holds a Master of Arts in Management and Organizational Leadership from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Middle Tennessee State University.
